On the positive side, glass manufacturers benefit from the rapid growth of high-end skin care products and the large demand for glass products. In addition, glass manufacturers are seeking opportunities for development from emerging markets and constantly updating product production processes.
In fact, as a whole, although there are competing materials in the professional line and perfume market, the glass manufacturer is still optimistic about the prospects of the glass packaging industry, and has not shown any lack of confidence. Many people believe that these competing packaging materials can not be compared with glass products in terms of attracting customers, brand performance and crystal location.
"Perhaps countries have different preferences for glass, but France, which dominates the cosmetics industry, is not so eager to accept plastic products," said Gerresheimer Group, director of marketing and external liaison. However, chemical materials are not without a foothold in the professional and cosmetic market. In the United States, DuPont and Eastman chemical crystal manufactures the same proportion of glass products and feels like glass. Some of these products have already entered the perfume market. But Patrick Etahaubkrd, head of the North American division of the Italian company, doubts that plastic products can compete with glass products.
"The real competition we see is the packaging of products, and plastic manufacturers think customers will like their packaging style," she said.
